Let’s take a minute and look at first this image of the Twitter account as it appears just as the Advent season was starting in the churches, but before the popular secular Advent calendars that always begin December first. As usual, I’m looking for information about who, why, where, what is this account. The name is not descriptive. There is a brief written description: “A Joint Project to help Catholics reflect and pray in Advent 2011.” Another clue is that the location given is “UK”. Really, though, we don’t know anything much about them other than that they seem to be Catholic. We don’t know if this is from a church-sponsored organization, a club, a study group, an individual, a charity, or what. There is no link provided in the description. It says a Joint Project, but Joint implies at least two groups or people, and none of that is communicated. Now let’s look at the same page a couple weeks later.
Basically this is the same, except that through the actual content posted we can intuit more about the group or person(s) posting. We can see that they are posting authoritative works from reputable sources. Since the target audience is Catholic, resources from Bishops, the Archdiocese of Washington, and the Pope are all the best of the best sources. There is no obvious bias, they don’t seem to be selling anything. They link to quality resource, directly. The resources vary tremendously in source.

I’m impressed with what I’ve seen of their content, but had major reservations because of the lack of clarity about who they are.
