Disasters & Medical Libraries, A Twitter Chat

UMMS Flooding, Dec 2 09

It’s true!

Truth #1: We are going to try to have a #MEDLIBS medical librarian Twitter chat during the day, for those who said they couldn’t attend at the usual time on Thursday evenings 6pm Pacific Time. Please note, if daytimes work better for you than evenings, you need to say so. This initial trial run will be at 2pm Eastern Time on Thursday July 19, 2012. More info is available at the official blog.

Truth #2: This initial test run for daytime will be moderated by yours truly, PF Anderson. I don’t plan to make a habit of this, so if folks want to see more chats during the day, please (a) say so, and (b) volunteer, if you haven’t already.

Truth #3: The topic is Disasters and Medical Libraries – Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires … They seem to be everywhere these days, large and small, and they can happen anywhere. What if your library is effected by a disaster? What are the responsibilities of medical libraries during community crises? How can libraries prepare? How can medical librarians as individuals prepare?

Hope to see you there!
